Text-to-Checkout Library Coming to Edwardsville City Hall
The City of Edwardsville will soon be launching a new service that will be found in the City Hall lobby. Through a partnership with the Kansas City Public Library, the Edwardsville City Hall lobby will feature a text-to-checkout mini-library.
This is a service that the KCPL has offered in other areas, including Edwardsville Elementary, and is part of a strategy to increase circulation and be creative in the outlets people can access Library materials.
The Edwardsville location will feature about 40 items, with a mix of children, young adult, fiction, and non-fiction materials.
A contract between the City and KCPL was finalized this fall, and it is expected that the service will launch in early-to-mid November. Instructions on how to check out materials will be provided.
The space being used for the text-to-checkout library will also feature free coloring books, informational material about City activity, and free editions of the Tiblow Talk community newsletter.
